Silo Run Golf Course first opened for play in 1995. The course was designed by Tom Peagram.
Quietly nestled in the foothills of Northwestern North Carolina, Silo Run Golf Course features beautiful scenery, including the Blue Ridge Mountains and Pilot Mountain. This 18-Hole Championship Golf Course is spread out on what used to be a large dairy farm. Silo Run gets its name from the two large, imposing silos left over from days gone by. The silos, perched right beside the parking lot, are visible from the road as you drive up. Silo Run Golf Course offers a wide variety of holes. Half the holes are tree lined, while the other half are wide open. The difficulties of the fairways are mirrowed by the difficulty of the greens.
The signature hole at Silo Run Golf Course is #9, a 630-yard, par 5, featuring a small undulating green, and a large bunker, a 150 yards off the green, with big boulders protruding out of it. There is also a bunker to the left of the green that has trees in the middle of it.
Silo Run Golf Course plays to a par-71 and measures 6,790 yards from the back tees. The course rating is 70.9 with a slope rating of 123.
